 Board Members

 Janine Chicourrat’s is general manager of the Portola Hotel & Spa, where she is spearheading a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) redesign of the 379-room property. Chicourrat serves on the board of the Carmel Chamber of Commerce and the Monterey County Hospitality Association.  She also served as a hospitality representative for the United States Agency and International Development (USAID) program, working with the City of Monterey, Country of Croatia and The City of Dubrovnik on economic development.

Ann Gaglioti is the Executive Director of GroundWork, a renewable energy firm that provides field engineering services in support of utility scale wind and solar development. Most recently, GroundWork helped to develop Arizona’s first wind farm, the Dry Lake Wind Project, which will begin production this year. The estimated environmental benefits of the first phase of this project will result in the annual offset of over 185 million pounds of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to removing 15,000 cars from the road.

Prior to GroundWork, Ann was an Executive Vice President with iCrossing, an interactive marketing firm.  In 2007, Ann was instrumental in the sale of Proxicom, a web development firm to iCrossing. She holds a BA in Economics and                                                     International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.

Haruno Ito, CPA is a partner of Tolkan & Ito, CPA’s, a local CPA firm in Monterey, CA serving individuals, small businesses and trusts.  She’s a member of Society of California Accountants and served as a Board of Director from 2008 to 2012.  She became a Rotarian in 2012, member of a brand new club in Cannery Row serving as a treasurer on the Board. 

 

 


 Nick Tomb is the Program Coordinator for Center for Stabilization and Reconstruction Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a co-founder and serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Global Majority, a Monterey-based non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of non-violent conflict resolution.  Nick has been teaching American Government at the Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, CA since January 2005 and serves on the Board of Directors of the United Nations Association-USA, Monterey Bay Chapter.

 Jeannette Witten is a founding attorney for Parravano Witten PC. In addition to being an alumni of Leadership Monterey Peninsula Class of 2008, she is a board member for vIDentity, Inc., CASA of Monterey County, Colleagues of the Arts, Enduring Freedom Foundation, Carmel Opera Foundation and a member of Monterey County Bar Association, Monterey County Women Lawyers Association, Santa Cruz Bar Association, Monterey Surfrider Foundation, Carmel Chamber of Commerce.

 Anjanette Adams is the Owner and Chief Financial Officer of Monterey Signs, a full service sign shop serving Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.  In 2013 Anjanette joined the board to pursue her interests in environmental preservation and waste reduction in business.  After starting Monterey Signs and realizing the amount of waste in the sign industry, Anjanette has been working with organizations to create signage that can be reused.  Anjanette holds a BS in Marine Biology and Zoology from Humbolt State University

Graham Forbes is the Business Partnership Manager with the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program working to drive ocean conservation by shifting seafood procurement towards more sustainable sources.  Prior to joining Seafood Watch, Graham worked for 6 years advocating for workers' rights and sustainable coastal development in San Diego as an analyst with UNITE HERE, the hotel workers union.  Graham is a Monterey Peninsula native and holds a bachelor's degree in political science from University of California, San Diego and a master's degree in sociology and political economy from San Diego State University.
